Klevis is a Dutch-Albanian choreographer. He was born in Berat, Albania, and spent his early childhood there before his family emigrated to Italy during the post-communist transition of the 1990s.
He began his dance training at the Academy School of Dance, continuing at Ilir Dance with Ilir Shaqiri and soloists from the Opera of Tirana. He later received a scholarship to study at Ateneo Danza in Forlì with Stefania Sansavini, and graduated from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London.
Following his training, Klevis has worked internationally as a choreographer across dance, opera, musical, and theatre.
His engagements have included productions such as Rusalka (Teatro Real, Madrid, 2020), Christmas Eve (Oper Frankfurt, 2021), Salome (Finnish National Opera, Helsinki, 2022), Lohengrin (Dutch National Opera, 2023), and Pique Dame (Bayerische Staatsoper, 2024).
Recent and upcoming projects include West Side Story (Netherlands tour, 2025/2026), for which he is nominated for Best Choreography at the Dutch Musical Awards 2026, and Spring Awakening at Volksoper Wien (2026).
Alongside his work for opera and musical, he has created independent choreographic pieces presented at international competitions, receiving awards including 2nd Prize at the Burgos–New York International Choreographic Competition (2016) for Until The Sand, finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix (2018) with Where The Sun Rises, and 1st Prize at Danza en el Camino de Santiago (2019) for The Silent Way.
